Libya is an integral part of the Africa and the Arab Nation. The name "Libya" was probably derived from "Libu", one of the ancient tribes, but the al Jamahiriya, as it is now known, is the modern name for a country as old as human history....... it self Libya has contributed to Man's heritage as various cultures and civilizations have flourished in this area since the emergence of Mankind. The pro-historic art work and engravings in rock shelters of Tadrart,Matchandoush and Acacus mountains, described by some explorers as evidence of one of the oldest civilizations on this planet earth, are proof of this.Libya is a North African state overlooking the Mediterranean Sea .It enjoys a wide variety of natural wealth, both offshore and onshore.Libya is characterized by one of the longest coastlines in North Africa. Libya has been throughout history a haven for many civilizations.Remnants of old civilizations are still evident throughout the country. Its rich culture and strategic geographical position have allowed many different civilizations from east and west to interact and merge .Libya, with open arms, embraces and welcomes all investors to capitalize on the enormous industrial, commercial and tourism potentials and opportunities that the country offers.Foreign investors are particularly encouraged to invest in the tourism industry. We are confident that such projects will be successfully realized in this land of opportunity.
Geography
In addition to the vast stretch of the Mediterranean Coastline, Libya’s two other main geographical features are Highlands and Desert. The Libyan highlands are Jebel Akhdar “Green Mountain” north east, Jebel Nefusa north west and Tibesti Mountains on the southern borders. Productive agriculture is concentrated on the coast. Still farther south a pastoral zone of grassland gives way to the vast Sahara Desert which contains a magnificent natural landscape.

Environment
Libya have coastline of nearly
1,900 km at the Mediterranean and an area of 1.76 million km2 more than three times the size of France, Libya has always enjoyed the merit of a strategic location at the midpoint of Africa’s northern rim. Having borders with Egypt to the east, Algeria and Tunisia to the west and Chad, Niger and Sudan to the south further enhanced its strategic position that links the Middle East the cradle of oriental civilizations, with the other North African Arab countries and made it passage gate to the core sub-Saharan African countries. Libya rests within easy reach of Europe, home of the Romans and the Greeks and birthplace of the modern industrial civilization. All these facts made Libya, throughout history, a bustling crossroads of most witnessed civilizations.
